Product & Process Innovation, Inc. is a training, consulting and litigation support firm that works with corporations to review and improve their business strategy formulation and strategy execution through project management, product development, and engineering/manufacturing process improvement. In addition to working directly with companies, PPI also provides corporate training through Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Clemson University.
Consulting Services provided by PPI normally include an evaluation of current business practices and processes. This evaluation often entails comparing the processes to industry standards or benchmarks. An improvement path is selected based upon the client's strategy and business environment. Then the appropriate projects, training, and systems needed to progress down the path are identified. Since most improvement efforts require some level of organizational change, change management and leadership issues are also addressed. Recent consulting clients include Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Instrumentation Laboratories, Kaman Aerospace, Dominion Power, Varian, General Electric, and Harvard Clinical Research Institute - a division of Harvard Medical School.
Training Programs provided by PPI are for corporate audiences. These award-winning programs can be conducted in classrooms at university or corporate learning centers, hotel or conference centers, and on-site at the business client's facility using the current business systems for case studies and examples. The courses are focused on project management, product development, and general business management. Project management courses include programs on the Fundamentals of Project Management, Project Schedule and Cost Management, Project Risk Management, Managing the Project Management Process, and a simulation based upon managing Extreme Projects. Product development courses include programs on Managing Product Development Projects, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Six Sigma, and Poka Yoke. General business management courses include programs on Lean Operations, Basic Business Finance, and Value Creation Mapping. All programs can be tailored to fit unique business issues or practices.

Ray Sheen founded PPI in 1996. The business operates from its office in Taylors, South Carolina, near Greenville. PPI consists of a consortium of consultants that responds to a client's request with the unique blend of expertise and experience that is required to meet the client's needs. PPI meets the criteria of a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concern.
Litigation Support
Litigation Support is provided by PPI for those clients who require a business analysis of their position to supplement their legal analysis. PPI has provided this type of analysis and expert witness support on cases involving system development projects for the federal government.
